HICKMAN With victories and fast PR's in race distances from 1500m to the marathon, Libbie Hickman is one of the most versatile and successful distance runners in American history. Equally adept on the track and the road, she owns 10 National Championships. Libbie was an Olympic finalist at 10000m, won a silver medal at the Goodwill Games 5000m, holds the USATF National championship meet record for 10000m, and is the second fastest American female ever at 3000m. On the road Libbie has established herself as an international force with major victories at Bolder Boulder, Carlsbad, Tufts and numerous world class races. Libbie was the top ranked American road racer from 1996-2000, was named USATF Long Distance Runner of the Year four times, RRCA Road Racer of the Year four times and was ranked among the top ten road racers in the world four separate times. Libbie has represented her country in competitions around the world including the 2000 Olympics, 1995, 97 and 99 World Championships and several marathon relay teams. In 1998 Libbie was inducted into the Colorado State University Hall of Fame and the Colorado Sportswoman Hall of Fame. |
| After a hiatus to give birth to her daughter Lindy, Libbie is back to full time training and racing. With 13 years of experience as a world class runner and exposure to the world's best coaches, Libbie wants to share her knowledge and love of running with others. She has coached several athletes during her career, most recently working with two formerly sedentary females who completed their first marathons with her help. Libbie has trained and raced at every major competitive distance and believes she can help runners of any ability achieve their goals. |
